A resource to help us explore the meaning of a piece. Can be used with students of any instrument!

Hello! Here is a sort of worksheet I created for my students to do when we start a new song/piece. Because we are an adaptive coordinating system that adapts to our intentions, I find it most helpful to coordinate our intentions when the piece of music being worked on has that context and backstory to it.
Musical meaning and interpretation is not in any way limited to voice students. Please feel free to share this with music educators of all instrumental backgrounds.
Many music educators also believe in the importance of having background information as a tool for embodying the character in the piece. The next level that I examine this with in terms of LearningMethods and Language of Wholeness is the coordination this creates in the human system. If all of our attention is focused on the context of the piece, this eliminates any micro-managing that one might do since there is no room to focus on it.
In addition, there's a small section at the end for the composer's meaning of the piece. Whether it was written in the 1800's or last month, I believe it's valuable for students to know how the piece came to be. Whether it provides them with a history lesson or it gives them an idea of the modern process of music making where there is often more than one composer.
